About us
Hi, I’m Neeta Patel
A certified cook based in Australia, where I’ve spent over ten (10) years perfecting my craft in Indian cuisine and street food. Originally from India, I migrated to Australia in 2008 to join my husband, and it was here that I found a new path in cooking, turning my passion for food into a fulfilling career.
Before entering the culinary world, I worked as a women’s social worker in India, a role that instilled in me a deep sense of community, connection, and care—values I now bring into my kitchen. Cooking has become my way of sharing these values, and this blog is where I share my love for India’s vibrant and diverse flavours.
From traditional curries to popular street food like pav bhaji, samosas, and chaat, I’ve honed my skills in creating authentic Indian dishes that are easy to follow and replicate. My goal is to inspire you to explore the rich culinary traditions of India, whether you’re an experienced cook or just getting started.
In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, who remain my biggest supporters on this culinary journey. Join me as I blend the flavours of my Indian roots with my life in Australia—together, let’s cook, learn, and savour the incredible tastes of India!
Jalebi and Rabri
Jalebi, the golden, crispy spiral soaked in fragrant sugar syrup, pairs perfectly with Rabri, the rich, creamy dessert made from slow-cooked milk infused with cardamom and saffron. Together, this iconic duo is a celebration of Indian sweetness, blending crunchy and velvety textures with delightful bursts of flavor. A true indulgence for festive occasions or any time your sweet tooth craves a treat!
Gulab Jamun
Gulab Jamun is a luscious dessert made from soft, spongy milk-solid dumplings, deep-fried to golden perfection and soaked in a fragrant rose and cardamom-infused sugar syrup. This melt-in-your-mouth delicacy is a staple at celebrations and festivals, offering a warm, syrupy embrace of sweetness in every bite.
Burfi
Burfi is a beloved Indian sweet, made from condensed milk, sugar, and ghee, often flavored with cardamom, nuts, or saffron. Its dense, fudge-like texture and aromatic sweetness make it a perfect treat for any occasion. Available in various flavors like pista (pistachio) and coconut, Burfi offers a delightful blend of rich, creamy goodness in every bite.
